We made it

We're in San Franscio, finally. We like it here, the natives seem friendly and the city is both beautiful and interesting. I can report that it takes about 45 minutes to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and during the walk one is offered many opportunities to call a crisis councelling hotline. Good, eh? I have also learned that the Cheesecake Factory in Macy's on Union Square gives you amazingly tasty bread for free! A good tip for these credit-crunchy times. Another finance tip; do not let pushy salesmen bully you into buying expensive gadgets under the pretense that they are giving you an "amazing deal". I had a narrow escape from a salesman yesterday and having googled the item he was trying to sell me, I can tell you that it was severely overpriced. I am ashamed to admit thet he almost got the better of me, I am a bit of a pushover sometimes.

Anyhoo, enough of that! We have generally been having a lovely time, touring the city on both foot and double decker tourist bus. There are a couple of areas we have yet to explore, but hopefully we will set out to new places today, weather permitting.

Speaking of weather, I have noticed a disturbing trend. We arrive to a new place. The weather is lovely. We stay a while. The weather gets worse. I wonder if this will continue once we get to the tropics. Will we cause monsoons? Hurricanes? Are we that powerful forces of nature? Yes, we probably are!
